Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American actress singer and music producer. Her mom raised her in the USA and she was subject to many racial taunts that caused her to feel as someone who was not wanted. After entering a ninth-grade school audition where she was praised for her voice, she started to build confidence. It not only boosted confidence in herself, but it also changed her career ambition. When she was 22, she graduated at the Julliard School of New York. When she was 23, she made her debut at the Broadway with Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films featuring You've Got Mail. Her biggest breakthrough was when she played the character in the role of The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway production of Spamalot garnering not only her the Tony Award for her performance as well as a lot of critical praise. In the following year she was cast in the role of the character Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her becoming more famous. She is also a known singer and has released an extended play. In addition, she is a LGBT activist.
